    Winter in Sokcho

    In Sokcho, 25-year-old Soo-Ha, a literature student and waitress at the Blue House guesthouse, is about to marry her fiancé Jun-Oh, but the arrival of Yan Kerrand, a French illustrator visiting Japan, disrupts her routine. The two establish a relationship based on minimal gestures and essential exchanges: they communicate in French, share food, and draw. The protagonist’s questions about her origins and about a French father she has never met find unexpected scope for reflection.

    Koya Kamura

    Koya Kamura is a French-Japanese director born and raised in Paris. A graduate of the Film University Paris VII before studying at Keio University in Tokyo, he began his career in France at the VIACOM Group (MTV, GameOne) in 2007 and subsequently joined the Walt Disney Company in 2008 as a creative producer and director. Kamura made his directorial debut in 2019 with the short film Homesick, set in the Fukushima restricted-access zone. The film received acclaim and awards at major international film festivals, including a César (French Oscar) nomination in 2021.
