New Brunswick native Daniel Léger is a multidisciplinary artist who describes himself as a poet of the everyday. A filmmaker and singer-songwriter, he has made four films with the NFB and recorded six albums with Productions Koonacky, which earned him a place on the “New Brunswick Francophone Music Wall of Fame” in 2022. His body of work offers a sensitive exploration of the lives of atypical or vulnerable people. His 2007 short doc A Sunday at 105 garnered nearly a million views on the NFB’s platforms. Léger explores his bipolar disorder in the first animated film to use soot drawings, The Flames of Me, made in collaboration with visual artist Steven Spazuk.
