    On the night of the 14th of July 1933, the writer Raymond Roussel closes the door of his room at the Hotel Des Palmes in Palermo. He swallows pills, drags the mattress to the centre of the room and lies down on it. The next morning his companion, accompanied by a valet, finds his corpse. But is he really dead? Or did he cross a border that he considered unacceptable, that between reality and imagination?

    Lucia Malerba, Niccolò Manzolini (Mangoosta)

    Mangoosta is an artistic tandem (formed by Lucia Malerba and Nicolò Manzolini) constantly on the move, dedicated to freehand drawing and traditional animation. They have made two short films: Flocks (mixed media 2D, 5′, 2020) and The Angst and the Bliss (mixed media 2D, 2020). They are working on the third, entitled Verde come l’inferno, which they will begin in residence at the Fontevraud abbey this year, and on a VR experience, Roussel’s Music Box, selected at the New Images Festival 2023 in Paris. They take care of the organization of Mixed Technique, a series of meetings that aim to catalyze a network of artists, entertainers and musicians in Bologna.
