“Earthquake” is the nickname given to a child who struggles more than others to channel his exuberance. His teacher gave him this nickname because, like an earthquake, a child’s anger sometimes explodes uncontrollably and irrationally, leaving visible traces in its wake.

Massimiliano Di Lauro
An illustrator from Puglia, he has published illustrated books translated into seven languages since 2012. He collaborates with Italian and international magazines such as the Boston Globe, Variety, Corriere della Sera, Scientific American, and Il Foglio Sportivo. In 2016, he began collaborating with the Roman animation studio La Testuggine, with whom he has worked on various projects. Earthquake (2023) is his first animated short as a director.

Lorenzo Latrofa
Born in Rome in 1977, he graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Turin after graduating in Architecture in Rome. Awarded for works such as Nino & Felix (2015) and Concetta (2017), he is the director of the La Testuggine studio.
