Kalina links traditional animation with a re-projection. To the rhythm of the popular folk song Ukochany Kraj, umiłowany Kraj (Beloved country, dear country) he creates an anti-ballade about a farmer’s hard life and difficult work. Monotonous and mechanical activities degrade a man.

Jerzy Kalina (1944). Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is a painter, sculptor, set designer, theatre and film director, and an author of documentaries and animated films made using different techniques. He is a versatile, committed artist who often presents important social and political issues in a sophisticated art form.
