To combat plastic pollution, the Festival has started a collaboration with the PLASTIC FREE Association, to raise awareness as many people as possible through moments of information.

The environment is our priority. This is why, in collaboration with ARPA Sicily – Regional Agency for the Protection of the Environment, we created the cinema and environmental sustainability project “Animaphix Go Green”, aimed at primary schools in the area, to convey – through the viewing of thematic films, meetings with sector experts and animation cinema workshops – the principles of environmental education, with concrete examples and easily replicable behavioral models, to make children participate and aware of their role in safeguarding the environment. For the same reason, we have chosen to reduce the use of paper. Paper production contributes to massive deforestation, involves the emission of large quantities of carbon dioxide and involves the consumption of enormous quantities of water. New technologies offer efficient and sustainable alternatives. For a few years now we have chosen to no longer print the Festival program and catalog and to use a digital version that can be consulted on the Festival website and via QR codes distributed on some panels in the festival locations to be scanned using your mobile devices, so as to have the day-by-day program and the Festival contents always “at hand”.
