    Elena finds her maternal grandmother Laura’s notebook after a long time. She explores it for the first time and through those pages she sees her life again. Convinced of a confession that Laura had made to her, that is, that if you have a great desire then it should be whispered and entrusted to the paper of a notebook for it to come true, as a child she immediately began to write. Today, at 25, Elena no longer remembers her past desire, but she has a new one: to remember Laura.

    Lucia Catalini

    Born in Rimini in 1998. She studied scenography at Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and later attended the two-year course in illustration at ISIA Urbino. During the animation course at ISIA she made his first animated short film entitled Cotone (2023). Né una né due is her second animated short. It was created in 2024 as a thesis project and was among the five finalists for the 2025 Nastri d’Argento Awards. She now works as a freelance illustrator and animator. She collaborates with film production companies and newspapers in Italy and abroad, including Il Corriere della Sera, The New York Times, Le 1 Hebdo, and De Correspondent. She is currently writing a new animated short film, the treatment of which was developed during the artistic residency “De l’écrit à l’écran” in Montpellier, supported by Luz Lab and the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris.
