A ritual in the form of a film essay that explores, through collage, the feeling of displacement when migrating in early childhood, as an initial configuration of detachment from territory, family environment, and the body, while seeking to recover its origin as a symbolic center.

Mariana Mendivil
Filmmaker, collage artist, and stop motion animator. She graduated from the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC-UNAM) as a filmmaker and from Bande à Part in Barcelona, where she earned a degree in screenwriting. She won the Best Mobile Device Cineminute Award at the 7th Metropolitan Cineminute and Brief Narratives Festival. Her analog collage work has been exhibited in international exhibitions such as the Bibart Biennale Internazionale in Bari, Italy (2021), as well as in collective exhibitions in various states including Oaxaca, Baja California Norte, Michoacán, Mexico City, among others. Restos is her solo exhibition presented in Mexico City and Morelia (2021). Recently, her medium-length film Incrustaciones, co-directed in collaboration with the Gloria Contreras Chair in Dance and its Interdisciplinary Links (UNAM), was screened; and her dance video installation was exhibited at MUAC as part of the Incrustaciones project.
