Shiva Sadegh Asadi

Shiva Sadegh Asadi is an Iranian filmmaker and painter. She started her career as a visual artist in 2006.Then she continued her studies and graduated with a Master’s degree in animation from University of Art, Tehran.  She experimented with different techniques and made a few short animated films including “The Kitten” in 2013 that was about parental neglect and emotional abuse. In 2017 she made ”Maned & Macho”, a symbolic animation about gender discrimination in a patriarchal family. The movie was a turning point in her career, screened in many festivals all over the world and won multi awards. Following her concerns, she made “Crab” in 2020 about bullying and abuse at schools. This movie won the International Jury Special Award at Hiroshima International animation festival, 2020.
