    Walking down the street or sitting on a commuter train, few of us can resist the siren song of that small, illuminated device in our pockets. Through a carefully choreographed collision of different techniques, In the Shallows takes us on a deep dive into the abyss of mass media intoxication.

    Arash Akhgari

    Iranian-Canadian director born in 1984, independent animator and visual artist, he focuses on the expressive language of visual art, moving image and abstract story telling. He works with traditional mediums for animation as well as painting, drawing and collage, and explores contemporary visual languages.
