Florence Miailhe
Graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts, with a major in engraving. She started out as a designer and in 1991 directed her first short film, Hammam. Since that time he has created a very personal style for his animated films: using tempera, pastels or sand, he creates the scenes directly under the camera, with a covering process. He received the César award for best short film for Au premier dimanche d’août (2002), a special mention in Cannes for Conte de Quartier (2006) and in 2015 the Cristal d’honneur award at the Annecy Animation Film Festival for the overall body of his work. He also worked as a teacher in various animation schools. In 2010 La traversée won the award for best screenplay at the Angers Premiers Plans Festival.
