Corpus

video installation by Dario Denso Andriolo

In Andriolo’s extraordinary work, art transforms into a profound journey through the immensity of Sicily. “Corpus” is much more than a simple video installation; it is a bold and touching homage to the history and grandeur of the island.

From the fusion between physical sculpture and digital art, which extends from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, ‘Corpus’ creates a sensorial world that captures the very essence of a vibrant island. The low-poly form of the sculpture, suspended like a living symbol, is the beating heart of this work. Crossed by an intricate work of projection mapping, its white and ethereal surface comes alive with hypnotic and surreal video content, evoking the powerful vibrations of the personalities that have shaped its unique character over the centuries.

The installation is not only a visual celebration but also an invitation to profound reflection on Sicilianity. The large wall becomes the stage on which ideas and identities come to life, transforming the space into a portal to parallel worlds of memory and innovation. Visitors are immersed in a succession of light and shadow, sounds and images that blend into a mystical dance of perceptions. “Corpus” is an emotional journey through the history and culture of the island, an ode to its greatness that challenges and stimulates the senses.

“With ‘Corpus’, I wish to take the audience on a journey beyond the ordinary, exploring the depths of the Sicilian soul and inviting contemplation of its complexity and beauty,” declares artist Dario Denso Andriolo.
