Animaphix OFF this year becomes the panorama section of the festival and moves to Palermo at the Cinema De Seta at I Cantieri Culturali della Zisa. It is a space reserved for short films  out of competition and focuses on films whose reflectors have been metaphorically “off”, films that are not widespread in Italy and outside ordinary circuits subject to the usual market logics. The festival offers a rich program of visionary short films ranging from short surreal, dreamlike, irreverent films, to abstract films that go back to the experiments of the beginnings of cinema and that lead to fantastic universes, to be deciphered beyond the surface. Four national previews will be presented: “Lavo” by Sasha Svirsky (Russia/2017), “An Echoing Memory of a Tongue” by Arash Akhgari (Canada/2017), “Mak” by Ala Nunu Leszynska (Poland/2017), “Casino “by Steven Woloshen (Canada/2016).
