Italian colonialism is still hidden in darkness. The Imperial Lullaby tells the story of the fascist invasion of Ethiopia in 1936 through the lens of a child’s school drawings.

Filippo Foscarini
Filippo Foscarini graduated in Comparative Literature at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. He is currently studying Cinematic Documentary at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Palermo.

Marta Violante
Marta Violante was born in Milan in 1991. She graduated in Audio and Visual Communication at the University of Valencia and in Documentary Cinema at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia of Palermo. She has lived in Mexico for several years, where she has worked as film editing assistant. She has co-directed the shorts documentary Lirio Mendoza and Africa Bianca. She is in the A.C. La Bandita, collective of filmmakers based in Palermo.
