He works as an illustrator and filmmaker in Berlin.
He studied Communication Design at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle, later on he taught at the animation department of the HFF Konrad Wolf Potsdam-Babelsberg.
Currently he works as a professor of sequential illustration at the BTK University of Art and Design.
Together with Alexandra Kardinar he founded their collaborative label Drushba Pankow in 2002. Schlecht was born in 1968 in Radeberg.
Hugh Welchman got a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. His graduation film, Crowstone, won the Cinefoundation Prize at the Festival of Cannes and the Sam Mendez Shakespeare Prize. His first professional experience was producing short films for Monty Python and then he founded BreakThru Films. In 2008 Welchman received an Oscar for the first important production of BreakThru Films, Peter and the Wolf. The film also collected many other awards, including the Annecy Cristal and the Rose D'or. Peter and the Wolf was premiered at the Royal Albert Hall, accompanied live by the Philharmonic Orchestra, then it was presented at the Hollywood Bowl, and since then it has been screened in over seventy major concert halls all over the world. The following film, Magic Piano & the Choping Shorts, was presented in Beijing's Forbidden City. After having fallen in love with the Polish painter and film director Dorota Kobiela, Welchman embraced her cinematographic project Loving Vincent.
Paola Bristot, Aviano (1961), graduated in DAMS (Bologna,1985) and specialized in the work of Andrea Pazienza. She is professor of History of Art at the Academy in Venezia.
As president of the Viva Comix association organises many exhibitions concerning comics, illustration, animation and visual arts. She is the artistic director of the Piccolo Festival dell’Animazione (2007-2018) in Trieste, Udine, Pordenone and Venice.
She curated with Andrea Martignoni “Animazioni”, 5 DVD anthologies of contemporary Italian short films edited by Viva Comix, Ottomani, (2010-17).
As art director she produced the experimental film “Re-cycling” (Arte Video, Viva Comix 2014).
